Shelley Renee Stolte-Campbell

Shelley Renee Stolte-Campbell is a multi-talented artist and retired educator who brings decades of passion for learning and creativity into her artwork. Originally based in Hannibal, Missouri, Shelley spent over 37 years in education—27.5 years teaching in Hannibal classrooms and another 10 years working as a Science Project Director and Science Regional Instructional Facilitator for the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Though Shelley didn’t begin her artistic journey until college, her curiosity led her to explore every art class available. It was painting with oils that she believes sparked a lifelong love of visual expression.
Shelley is also a passionate watercolor artist, recognized for her heartwarming and realistic pet portraits—from dogs and cats to horses and rabbits. Beyond domestic animals, she finds inspiration in the natural world, creating paintings that celebrate native birds and flowers, forest and water scenery, and even exotic wildlife like elephants, giraffes, and lions. Her work reflects not only artistic talent but a deep appreciation for the creative journey itself. “It doesn’t have to turn out perfectly,” she says. “It is more about your journey to create.” Each piece she paints is filled with joy, curiosity, and a heartfelt connection to her subjects.
In addition to her fine art, Shelley produces a wide range of handmade craft items that are popular among both Hannibal locals and visitors. These include art cards made from prints of her paintings, handmade jewelry, and other creative gifts that showcase her versatility as an artist. A true lifelong learner, Shelley Campbell encourages everyone to try something new and embrace the joy of creating.
